Join worldly wise Odia on December 26 and 27 for a global Mahotsav

Once an Odia, always an Odia is the spirit of Global Odia Mahotsava 2020. With a clear aim of building tomorrow’s leaders and visionaries, Odisha Society Of America (OSA) is holding a two-day global conference in virtual mode. Odisha’s superstar Sabyasachi Mishra is one of the main brand ambassadors of Mahotsava on December 26 and 27.

OSA has been closely working with the Odisha government and as well as in the Americas. With a global view the OSA supports the Odisha government in reaching out to resources and experts all over the world.

OSA in fact observes Odisha Development Day and it has shown its umbilical cord connection to the motherland by complimenting the government in disaster relief funds. Odisha has strong social interaction and cultural promotion efforts by the OSA on a global scale.

Global Odia Mahotsav 2020 is a commemoration of Odias around the world to celebrate the state’s rich culture and develop synergy to build Brand Odisha.

The online event will be showcasing Odisha’s rich and vibrant art, culture, tradition, handicrafts, architecture, language, literature, tourism, and cuisine.  Besides, presentations of Odishi dance, music, folk dance and several other unique performing art forms of the State will be made. A special session would be on the role of Non-Resident Odias in facing huge challenges in the post Covid era and formulating a roadmap.

Global Odisha community members responded to superstar Sabyasachi Mishra when he took up Covid relief work in Odisha and personally monitored repatriation of migrant Odia labour force from other parts of India. Mishra received hundreds of Oximeters and an ambulance. The global doctors community of Odias have funded fabrication of more ambulances and covid testing vans. This is to complement Odisha government efforts to provide medical facilities to all in the state.

The current leadership took over OSA last year and now they are conducting the first ever Global Mahotsav to celebrate the spirit of Odias of the world.

The OSA has focused on knowledge mission in Odisha. President of OSA Kuku Das, proposed to set up at least one ICT enabled library in all 30 districts of Odisha with internet connectivity and suggested to put all libraries under one umbrella programme entitled “Mo Library”.

In her first speech as the president Kuku Das had spoken about OSA commitment as synergy, engagement and empowerment. Women Empowerment and connecting to the students/ immigrants has been a prime area of focus of OSA and Odisha is fortunate to have such a support group as the government takes steady steps towards making Odisha an industrially advanced state.

Be a Proud Odia and support this global Mahotsav.
